R. Murray Schafer ‎/ Sounds Unseen / Gallery Stratford

This flexi disc was issued in 1981 for the opening of a Raymond Murray Schafer exhibition at Gallery Stratford, Stratford, Ontario, organized in conjunction with Presentation House, Vancouver. Acknowledging Murray Schafer’s multiple activities as a writer, educator, philosopher, visual artist and composer, the exhibition included graphic scores, drawings, collages, and a sound sculpture built from found objects like “old saw blades, rusty nails, machinery parts”. The Sounds Unseen flexidisc is housed in a fold out sleeve with six columns of text and pictures.

Flexi appears unplayed. Front cover has some ever-so-slight creases.

Also included is a mint condition 1979 textured-paper program from Performing Rights Organization of Canada. This bonus would not have come with the official release as its printing pre-dates it. However, a fan obivouly kept them together for many years.

Overall, a lovely piece.
